Canadian National Cage Bird Show & Expo
The Canadian National Cage Bird Show & Expo, which is Hosted by: The Budgerigar & Foreign Bird Society of Canada (BFBS), is Canada’s top event for pet-bird owners, breeders, exhibitors and fans of exotic cage birds. The show is being held at the Richmond Green Sports Centre at 1300 Elgin Mills Road East in Richmond Hill.
Activities at the Expo include:
The opportunity to view a wide range of colourful birds on display: finches, canaries many colours and types, budgies, conures, cockatoos, macaws, ring neck parrots, come and listen to the singing canaries compete for best song and much more;
The Bird Marketplace, featuring the largest collection in the country of vendors of birds, bird food, cages, bird toys and supplies, books, videos, bird-related crafts, and more;
This annual event draws people from all over the GTA, other cities and towns, and outside the province. It’s a great opportunity for pet bird owners, breeders and show exhibitors to come together to share information about exotic birds. Those who may be considering buying their first bird will have the opportunity to learn from our international judges, breeders, club members and show vendors. It’s also a great venue for people who simply want to stock up on bird supplies and other items they can’t always find at the local pet store.
The event is open to the public and offers free parking and a special admission price for families.
The Budgerigar and Foreign Bird Society (BFBS) was formed in 1938 by a small group of bird fanciers in Toronto. Today the BFBS boasts a large membership comprised of pet owners and breeders of birds ranging from canaries, budgies and finches to cockatoos and macaws. The club typically hosts the Annual Cage Bird Show in the fall featuring judging, vendors and other activities for the whole family.
