At HARI, we have developed a complete vertical integration strategy for our production process. Instead of relying on external resources, we take charge of every aspect of the operation. From sourcing ingredients, diet formulation and testing to production, feeding trials, and distribution, we handle it all. Locally Sourced Ingredients
We take pride in manufacturing food formulas that are tested and produced in small batches at our own pet food facility, Hagen Industries, located in Montreal, Canada. We are dedicated to utilizing locally sourced seeds, grains, dried fruits, and vegetables in our formulas as much as possible. This commitment is reflected in the freshness and quality of our products, as well as the positive impact on both the local economy and environment. By partnering with local farmers, we are able to incorporate their ingredients into our products, resulting in quicker turnaround times for final HARI quality assurance approvals and enhanced freshness-to-market efficiencies.

Rolf C. Hagen Inc. is proud to have Hagen Industries Ltd. (Manufacturing Plant & Distribution Center) as its fully-owned manufacturing subsidiary since 1974. The lab and manufacturing facility are equipped with the latest technology to create and test our HARI brands, including Tropican & Tropimix. Our commitment to quality means that they use only the finest ingredients and adhere to rigorous production and quality control standards for all our products.
2. Rolf C. Hagen, Inc.
Since its establishment in 1955 by Rolf C. Hagen, Hagen has become the largest privately-owned pet products manufacturer and distributor worldwide. The company prides itself on producing practical and innovative products that promote the welfare and health of pets around the globe. With comprehensive animal and consumer research programs, Hagen ensures the production of relevant and practical pet care products. 3. HARI Facility
Established in 1985, HARI is a prominent figure in the field of avian research. HARI’s core mission is to enhance the care and breeding of companion birds and aviculture through education and research in critical areas such as psittacine health, nutrition, breeding, early parrot education, and product innovation. The institute also actively supports global initiatives geared towards the conservation of wild parrots. With over 400 pairs of parrots and other companion bird species, the HARI facility has become an invaluable resource for captive bird breeding and maintenance. The knowledge gained from these efforts is applied to all Hagen Industries-produced bird foods, treats, and supplements to guarantee that they are of the highest quality.
